Which vision strength do I need?
In short
Exactly the values from your prescription
Inside the mask, your eyes look through air, not through water – the mask holds an air pocket in front of your eyes, exactly like glasses do. That's why only the lens itself matters: Khroom masks have flat lenses. The image reaches you undistorted and at true size. The exact same correction applies as on land – nothing to recalculate, nothing to add.
Why do you read something different online?
Because online sources often refer to masks with curved lenses. Only those cause the notorious fisheye effect: everything looks magnified and distorted at the edges. That's not a property of water, but a design flaw of the mask – it distorts permanently and causes headaches for many wearers. With a flat lens, this problem doesn't exist – so there's nothing to correct for either.
How to choose correctly
◾ Take the sphere value (SPH) from your prescription – separately for left and right
◾ Use the values 1:1 – don't add to them, don't round up
◾ If your strength isn't available: choose one level lower
◾ Order two individual lenses (left + right) – together they form your corrective lens set
Do you have astigmatism (cylinder / CYL)?
Our lenses correct only near- and farsightedness, not astigmatism. Please don't try to compensate for astigmatism with additional diopters – that won't make the image sharper, it will make it blurrier. Simply go by your SPH value; with mild to moderate astigmatism, vision remains clear in practice. If your astigmatism is pronounced, you can pop the lenses out of the frame and have matching lenses made up by your optician.
Up to $185 / £145 / €170 cheaper than an optician
Optical Lens Insert – Clear Vision While Snorkeling Without Glasses
Instead of expensive custom lenses from an optician, simply choose two lenses – individually for left and right – snap them together, insert them, and go.
Installation in Seconds – No Tools Required
The lenses attach via suction cup directly inside the mask – no adhesive, no tools. This turns your Seaview Pro, Seaview Pro Plus, Seaview X, Seaview Y, or Seaview Kids into a prescription snorkel mask in no time.
Your Prescription Not Available?
Simply choose the next lower diopter level – in practice, this is more than sufficient for clear vision underwater. Order two matching individual lenses, add them both to your cart, and receive your complete optical insert.
Designed for Khroom Masks Only
Our lenses were specifically developed for our models. The fit is precisely matched to the Khroom range – for a secure hold and distortion-free vision.
Want Custom-Made Lenses?
If you would like custom-made lenses, simply order the lenses in the lowest available strength. You can then carefully push them out of the frame and have an optician of your choice make new lenses with your personal prescription.
Availability Notice
We do not offer progressive (varifocal) lenses. Available are plus and minus strengths from −8.0 to +8.0 diopters only.
Goes Great With
◾ Adjustable Fins – for safe and energy-efficient movement in the water
◾ Inflatable Snorkel Vest – for extra confidence and safety in the water
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I place an order?
Please select the prescription strength for the left eye and add the lens to your cart. Do the same for the right side. Complete the purchase. You will receive two items that just need to be inserted together. Done!
My prescription strength is not available. What should I do?
Select a weaker prescription strength to avoid eye strain while still being able to see clearly.
Example: Instead of -1.25, select -1.00.
Do the corrective lenses fit other brands of snorkel masks?
Possible. We guarantee the fit only for our models.
